Sanctuary has been working to rescue 132 bunnies from a backyard situation in
Phoenix. An Emergency Rescue Fund
has been set-up and will be used exclusively for the rescue operation. Funds
will be used for medical treatment, spay/neuters, food, housing and
transportation. If you would like to make a donation, please visit
http://www.tranquilitytrail.org/Donation_Center.html and note Emergency Rescue
Fund. They are also in need of volunteers for the bunnies. Please feel free to email info@tranquilitytrail.org

It's Labor Day weekend - the "unofficial" end of
summer. We are celebrating this weekend by making homemade bunny
treats. Rabbit treats are easy and fun to make and my bunny LOVES
them. This time around we made Brenda's Homemade Bunny Biscuits.
This recipe was pretty easy and I had all the ingredients on hand to make
it. To get a good consistency we used the coffee grinder (our coffee
grinder is for making bunny treats and not for actually grinding any coffee) on
the fine setting for the pellets and oats. The carrot and banana were
simple to do with just a little kitchen chopper. Since you roll the
"dough" out between two sheets of plastic wrap the mess was
minimal. We have also made Katie's Smack
Snacks for Rabbits, which were a huge hit. That one calls for parsley
and makes an herbier cookie, so if you have tons of parsley in your herb garden,
give that a try. Hope you enjoy!!
