This week is Thanksgiving, and in the spirit of the holiday it seems to be a good time to reflect on how thankful we are for our bunnies. Everyone who shares their home with a rabbit knows that bunnies bring lots of joy. They do silly, unexpected binkies, and run with little jumps down the hall. They will steal your banana, or other delicious treat, and then tip your cup over as a thank you. Everyone loves the “bunspection”, ears forward, slow walk, nose twitching, slowly poking something. I also find the classic snub very cute, where your bunny comes into the room, looks to make sure you are watching, and then turns his back and looks over his shoulder. There is the love and affection between bonded bunnies, which reminds us to take care with one another. Life with bunnies is not always easy, particularly when you find that hole in your carpet, see your freshly chewed baseboard, or have to give up something you’ve been saving for because you just spent $300 at the vet. One thing we all know, though, is that they are worth it. Give your bunny an extra pet this week and let’s celebrate being thankful.
