Write Dave Barry about his blog posting!
Thursday 01 March 2007 at 11:07 amFirst off, let me say I'm a BIG fan of Dave Barry. Have been for nearly 20 years. Since he quit being a regular columnist, I've been reading his blog every day. It's full of amusing stories, usually about weird snake news and the ongoing attempts by squirrels to take over the world. However, on Feb. 28th, he printed a letter sent in by a dad asking for advice. Seems the guy's daughters' rabbits need surgery and he's wondering if "the rodents" are worth it. You can find the letter, and readers responses, here: http://blogs.herald.com/dave_barrys_blog/2007/02/plea_from_a_dad.html
If you read the responses, you can see most people think of rabbits as dumb animals, disposable pets, and/or great dinner ideas. HAR! (NOT!) Well, I think ol' Dave needs a crash course in rabbit 101. I say we write Mr. Barry and (politely folks!) point out how misleading and harmful that posting was. You can write Dave Barry at: DaveBlog@herald.com. And for the record, I'm blog respondent #90. But I don't even know if Dave and his staff read all the posts. Thus my thought of the letter campaign.
Getting down off my soapbox...
