Eleanor and Timmy
Timmy was adopted from us a couple of years ago and thought he had found his forever home with Eleanor. Unfortunately, they were not able to stay in their home and both came back to us. Bunnies bond for life and we would never dream of separating a bonded pair. They must always stay together! Eleanor had a huge lump on her side that turned out to be an injury from her original spay – probably four years earlier. She’s probably been in some pain ever since. However, after surgery to fix the problem, she is healed up and enjoying being with Timmy! They are both anxious to find a home of their very own now where they will be able to live out the rest of their lives together. Timmy is a little shy, so it is good that Eleanor is around to take care of him and keep him feeling safe!
Snooper (and Cheyenne)
I'm Snooper and I'm a very curious bunny! I am a neutered male, white and tan Shorthaired Rabbit. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 3 months old. I share a cage with my buddy Cheyenne. We aren't related, although it may look like it. We'd very much like to go home together if possible. I was quite lonely when I arrived at the shelter, and am so glad to have found a bunwife in Cheyenne! We bunnies can keep each other company while you're away during the daytime. Please take us both home with you and give us the forever home we've been looking for…Cheyenne (and Snooper)
Hi, I'm Cheyenne! I am a spayed female, tan and white Shorthaired Rabbit. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year old. I was born in the Albuquerque shelter on January 26th, 2011. Snooper is my sweetheart and we'd love to stay together forever. Bunnies like companionship and we have become bonded here in the shelter. Won't you please give us a forever home? I am a bit shy and fearful, but Snooper has really brought me out of my shell, I'd miss him terribly.Ben
Ben has had a rough start in life. He was born in a backyard and lived with a small group of rabbits where he was picked on and beat up. His next stop was a shelter but not having lived among people before he was passed over for adoption due to his lack of social skills. From there he moved to another situation but one of his caretakers did not understand rabbits and he was inadvertently harassed. By this time Ben was a bundle of nerves and grunted, charged and batted anyone who came near. Now Ben is in a quiet foster home where he is finally learning that people are not so bad. He is enjoying being petted and held and even gets excited when people come to visit him. He only occasionally grunts and bats when he is unsure of things. Ben has come a long way and now he is looking for a quiet forever home where he can continue to blossom. In the past he has been aggressive with other rabbits so he will need to be firmly settled into his new home and gain confidence before he can be introduced to another rabbit. Ben will also do well as an only rabbit as long as he gets plenty of love and attention. Due to his past experiences Ben cannot be in a home with children.
Snowflake
My name is Snowflake and I am a neutered male, white American. The shelter staff think I am about 5 months old. I am the friendliest rabbit you will ever meet! A true albino bunny I will always need to be an indoors rabbit so I don't get hurt by the sun. And that's okay with me because that means more time with you! Wendy
This is a courtesy listing, if interested in adopting Wendy, please email Christen Nolte at: shrimpy.mcbeth@gmail.com or call her at the number listed below. Wendy recently joined our family not too long ago as a rescue from Lucky Paws, she is spayed and microchipped. She loves to eat!! Right now she is getting salad and fruit twice a day. We have found out that she does not like other rabbits. And I have a young child at home and she isn't doing well with my toddler. She needs a home with lots of attention, but quiet with no other pets. She loves to dig, rip paper and take naps. She doesn't like to be held or petted a great deal, but will tolerate being held. She is litter box trained and has good bathroom habits.
Wendy would prefer a home with no cats, dogs or young children.
Penny
Penny is a very happy bunny, despite the fact that she had a rough start in life. You would never know it though, from her marathon binkies and her fantastic people skills! She is definitely a people bunny and loves to be around her humans. Although she is not a fan of being picked up, one of her favorite things is to sit next to you and be petted. She loves her space and will show it with her terrifically-high binkies. Just watching her happy-hops will be enough to make you smile and laugh. She is also an excellent flopper, and likes to flop on her side as she stretches out after a good meal and some binkies. She enjoys soft blankets to curl up on, card board hidey boxes, and a variety of bunny safe toys. She is only about three months old, but is already doing quite well with her litter-box habits. Penny would do excellent in a home where she would get to spend a lot of time with her family, as she is an incredibly loving bunny...
Gracie and The Bear are a playful loving couple who enjoy lounging around the house and snuggling with each other. They are calm and relaxed lop and half lop bunnies who recently lost their home. They would love to find a place where they can feel safe and know that they will be loved forever. This is a male female bonded pair and they must be adopted together. They are currently in foster care.
Elmer and Elsie arrived at the ABQ shelter together. However, due to the busy chaotic environment at the shelter, they lost each other once they got there. They ended up in separate cages and were all set to be adopted out as singles, when one of our vigilant members noticed that their intake photos showed them as a pair. As you can see from their picture, these two love each other like only bonded bunnies can. The must be adopted together. Bonded bunnies must never be separated.
Nico (and Santana)
The staff named me Nico and I am a neutered male, tan American. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old. Hey everyone! I am looking for a good home where me and my buddy Santana can play like the rabbits we are. I love to explore and hide, and run and hop my way throughout the house. Come and see me!Santana (and Nico)
The shelter staff named me Santana and I am a spayed female, brown and black American. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old. Hi there! I'm an outgoing kind of rabbit and I look forward to spending time with my buddy Nico in my new home with you. I love playing in tunnels and bucking around as I skip/hop/run down the hallways.
