Pearl

Pearl is the second beneficiary of the Corbett Fund. Here is her story, told by Karen Courtemanche of Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary who rescued him:

"Pearl came from the Tri-City Shelter in Fremont in 2003. She was on the euthanasia list because she was very aggressive and very cage protective. Many of my volunteers could not work with her so Pearl and I developed a close relationship. Pearl was part of the large group in the rabbit building for about one year. She started showing weakness in her back legs in 2007 and was moved into the disabled group of rabbits and did well. When she stopped using her back legs completely, the other rabbits started picking on her so she was moved into my bedroom and has been there ever since. We call her the Diva, because she grunts and growls much of the time. In fact, she even grunts at you when you're giving her her favorite treat, dried pineapple bites!

Pearl has just recently started spending time with Sara, another special needs rabbit. They are getting along well!"
