Leo the Lop was a very special bunny rescued by Marisa Price and Casey Boomer from a horrible fate as "snake food" in September 2003.
Leo was a tiny holland lop, but his personality was tremendous and he brought joy to everyone he met. Leo was the inspiration for Marisa & Casey to join the House Rabbit Society and to begin to help rescue and find forever homes for neglected and homeless bunnies.
Leo served as our spokesbunny and traveled all over the state of California to visit various events as well as occasionally helping others as a therapy bunny.
He was a unique rabbit, loved by all who met him, and it is with great grief that we announce that his presence was taken from us at the tender age of 3 years by sudden onset pneumonia on March 1, 2006, despite valiant efforts by VCA Bay Area Animal Hospital on his behalf.
Because of Leo, many rabbits have been saved and found forever homes.
Marisa and Casey would like Leo's Legacy to live on, to help other bunnies, and in his memory we will be sponsoring one "snake food" rabbit rescue per year.
To find out if you qualify for sponsorship, and the details of this program, please contact:

We would appreciate a detailed description of the situation and how you became involved.
Thank you,
In Leo's Memory,
A broken-hearted Marisa & Casey |
