You can volunteer in the following ways:
- Staff volunteers - who would volunteer to serve regular hours per week or per month
- Special events volunteers - who would be available for us to call on for classes, for periodic collating and shipping, and other occasional events
We are especially seeking staff volunteers who can commit to regular hours and regular duties, although we welcome volunteers who would be willing to train for multiple tasks.
Email rabbit-center@rabbit.org for more info on volunteer opportunities at the Rabbit Center.
Your local animal shelters need you too!
Animal shelters around the Bay Area and across the country take in homeless rabbits every day. Even if you can't volunteer with us at the rabbit center, please consider helping out at a shelter near you. Here are some ways you can help shelter bunnies:
- bring them fresh vegetables
- groom them
- play with them
- socialize with them
- take their pictures and write bios for them
- take them to adoption events
- coordinate spays and neuters
- educate staff, volunteers, and potential adopters about rabbits and rabbit care
- foster one or two of them when the shelter gets too full
It's often scary and lonely for bunnies at an animal shelter; your time and attention can make all the difference! If you can give even just one hour a week, please visit the Fair Share pages to find the contact information for the rabbit volunteer at your local shelter!
